mmm... granola bars?

Scare campaigns are usually, I honestly don't know. I don't pay attention to these kind of things. They just don't, seem so important. I mean, I don't always eat healthy, but I still maintain a a balanced diet. I eat junk food once in a while, I drink all sorts of drinks with unecessary amounts of sugar. But I still eat all my vegatables and fruits, I get the right amount of protein and calcium, all those minerals and vitamins. Anyways!

This scare campaign isn't scary as much as it is quite, digusting. So, you can still be a healthy person, even if you eat unhealthy foods, once in a while. You just need that balance diet, along with some form of exercise. I think that, the obesity in our nation isn't that big of deal, compared to the United States that is. Seriously though, obesity isn't as big as a problem as it was a few years ago.

Well, while I was watching the video, I was actually eating. I just finished dinner so I was eating dessert. Anyways, it was disgusting. So, the new tax thing is just a horrible idea. I honestly believe that this, is the worse idea i've ever heard. Seriously, think about it. Taxes, for pop? That is just, over the top; completely unecessary.

APPLE CHIPS?! NO WAY.

so that's why you look so pretty on facebook

I am currently, laughing out loud. First of all, it's amazing how someone could look so "perfect" after a few touch-ups from photoshop. I mean, did you see the difference? It's honestly so cool. Second, I don't really care about those models or people in the magazine. They were made for our entertainment purposes anyways. Those types of magazines were made for 'glammed up' people. You can't just take that away, because then, there would be no purpose for that magazine. Everyone knows about inner beauty and that it's not always about how you look. So why bother changing the entire face of models, celebrities and magazines? It's just the way it is. They're all just doing their job. I don't see any of this as an issue. It's up to the readers of those particular magazines to realize that, things aren't always as they seem.

You go Lindsay Lohan!

did i ever tell you? I'M A GAMER.

Seriously! I've been playing video games since I was 4 years old. Anyone remember PlayStation? The very first one that released? Ever since then, I've been committed to those video game systems, from Sony to Microsoft to even Nintendo. So yes, I have witnessed first hand the evolution of technology within videogames; we used to use memory cards to save data, we can't play online or access the internet from the game console, the graphics of a game back then seemed amazing- nothing in "HD"... I can go on and on about how video game consoles have come a long way and obviously, the consoles have a huge impact on the types of games made.

Anyways, back to the question. In my opinion, I always thought video games were beneficial. Even before the 'exergames'. I mean, look at it. It's not just a silly game children play or a waste of time. It actually helps you with hand-eye coordination, memorization and your reading skills.

Reading is always involved in the world of reading. Whether it's a first-person, RPG video game, shooter, sports, even the 'exergames'. You always have to read something; instructions, how to play, etc. Also, you have to memorize the entire layout of a controller. You can't play a game then look at your controller as you play.

Now with this entirely new genre of videogames, these 'exergames', you don't necessarily need those classic controllers; especially with the Wii Fit (Plus) and its balance board. I remember when the Wii first came out. The Wii Remote and nunchuk, it was quite amazing. It was nothing like the other consoles (however, I prefer the 360 or the PS3, because of the types of games, graphics, etc... besides, Wii is more of a young child/adult type of thing anyways. And I'd rather sit on a couch with my dualshock controller, than balance on a Wii balance board). You don't exactly use a joystick and those 'combo buttons' in those 'exergames'. You have to actually, physically do something to play the game (like stand up and move). Then again, these types of games are only effective if you use it correctly. Obviously, not only did video games evolve greatly in graphics, but the playing style as well.

A X B Y, B B X Y, A B X Y, RT LT A B, RB A LB Y. It's not as easy as you think.

P.S. If you find that video games are detrimental or "wolves in sheep's clothing", you obviously do not appreciate the technology of our time. Just like Google Maps and its street view! We're in the 21st century, it's 2010. We're no longer in the 1950's with lard and tape worms. Embrace the new technology and appreciate what the great minds of our time has come up with! Because you're seriously living in a box if you don't. (Just kidding, but no. Not really, haha)

aw, what a cutie.

I think that the 'Dove Campaign for Real Beauty' is really inspiring. That's honestly what all girls need to feel that they are beautiful in their own way. Especially with the whole media hype on what a 'beautiful' girl looks like or what they should look like; the hot body, pretty face, perfect hair, the entire package. Now, not all girls care, but some do. It causes them to worry about their physical appearance, than who they are on the inside. They get self-conscience and insecure. Sometimes, that's just the way things are, particulary with all these celebreties flaunting about on our TV sets. So yes, the 'Dove Campaign for Real Beauty' is quite the project to open our eyes that, we are all beautiful in our own ways.

Axe commercials. Some find them incredibly funny, some are disgusted and some just don't seem to care. It doesn't make me laugh or roll my eyes in disgust. It kind of just makes me wonder if, boys actually think that might happen to them one day, if they wear the body spray. Don't get me wrong, good smelling boys get a thumbs up, but the dream of thousands of girls rushing towards you is like, snow in June. It's impossible, yet you never know. (Look what happened to Taylor Lautner, yuck) Anyways, it is kind of amusing how they come up with these kinds of idea. They're crazy.

What is this? They belong to the same parent company? Oh well, big deal. Each sector is trying to sell different things. Even though the ads like to show you that, their product is for your benefit, at the end of the day, it's all business. Whether you like it or not, that's just how it is. Two entirely different products (which ad's contradict each other) can not have the same values and beliefs. You can't sell a product if you don't get the consumers' attention.

they're obviously smart

First of all, what a clever advertisement. It honestly catches your attention just like that. You read one word and you just have to read the rest. Even though the message is obviously inappropiate and ridiculous, it is quite hilarious. It's not surprising that the person who is in this ad is well, a woman. Even today, most of those 'lose weight, get skinny' ads are directed to women. Although, men seem to be following right behind them.

Now this one obviously depicts that, if you were one to smoke, you would be considered 'irresistible'. I mean, nowadays (especially 'some' teenagers), think that the whole idea of smoking is 'cool'. Even with everyone telling you all the negative effects and diseases you can get from smoking, people still do it. They probably think that they're Mr. Hotshot with their yellow teeth and horrible breath.

Another ad about smoking? It's pretty obvious that smoking was a 'fad' back in the 1950's and 1960's. Well, not only is it promoting smoking, but it's also promoting a brand, which doctors recommend. That's quite odd in my opnion. Doctor's recommending things that are unhealthy? I'm so used to the idea of 'doctor recommended' toothpaste, cough medicine, etc. So the fact that they used doctors about, 50 to 60 years ago for these types of adverisements makes you wonder, were the doctors doing their job or what? What were they thinking, recommending such a disgusting object?

My thoughts exactly! What in the world is lard? And why would people eat it? I honestly have no idea. With all these ridiculous ads before this one, I'd rather not know. Although, the family does seem quite happy because they eat 'lard', whatever that is.

So, something was clearly wrong in the 1950's. Not only did they do such absurd things to get the perfect figure they want, they used to eat things like 'lard'. I think that, because of their lack of censorship or the idea of what good health really meant, these types of advertisements were allowed and published. Sometimes, I can't tell whether or not these advertisements were a joke, or if they were really being serious and tried to sell a product. I mean, if those types of ads were to run in the year of 2010, no one's going to take it seriously. Society might not have been corrupted, but they did have a, 'lack of judgement'. They probably didn't know any better. They didn't even have HD T.V.'s yet, let alone a coloured television set in every house.

P.S. I decided to look up what 'lard' was after I have finished my response. Just because my reaction to the ad would be based on a first impression type. So I learned, it was a type of fat from pigs. I mean, we eat pork, but it's completely unecessary and not to mention unhealthy, to advertise that 'pig fat' makes you happy.

YUCK.
